July 22nd: Day of Progress...?

When Trump became President, he fulfilled his promise of limiting immigration and travel to and from Muslim dominant countries. In other words, the Muslim ban. Fast forward to 2020, and the House of Representatives will be voting on the prevention of xenophobic bans on July 22nd. The "No Ban Act" will repeal the prior Muslim ban and prevent future discriminatory policies. Congress failed the American people in 2016 but on July 22nd, America can take a step in the right direction.

The two bills that will be presented to the floor are as follow: 1. H.R.810 - "To block the implementation of certain presidential actions that restrict individuals from certain countries from entering the United States." Source: congress.gov

2. H.R.2214 - "NO BAN Act" Source: congress.gov

Both bills are sponsored by Representative Chu and have support from other representatives. The goal of H.R.2214 is to have stricter implementations of repercussions if any President attempts to discriminate immigration of a country. Iranian-Americans among other minorities were personally affected by the 2016 ban and hope that YOU will support these two bills by contacting your state representatives.

Listed below is a link to sending a message to your state representatives to pass these two bills on July 22nd. Please sign!
